I don't want the NAPA Echlin ones scince they are made in china now and work just as well as a cheap one, and I cant get ahold of a Bluestreak one anymore, so what other VR brand should I get? I want to have a good one, and a back up.

Why can't you get hold of a Standard/BlueStreak one "any more"? They're distributed all over North America.

If you want to be able to adjust the line voltage, see this thread.

Im not really sure. The only place that carries Standard products does not even list it anymore, and can't order it. I can get a Standard one, but not the BlueStreak one.

Oh, that's 'cause there's never been a BlueStreak version of the Standard regulator VR-125, as far as I know.

Im fed up with chinese crap. What really did it for me is when I paid $32 for an Echlin VR and it had "Made in China" on the back, they work about the same or worse than the cheapo generic $15 ones! Needless to say, I got my money back...

If your car is still eating voltage regulators, there's still something wrong with your car.

Its not eating them anymore, as far as I can tell. The cheapo one thats in there right now is holding up well, although the ammeter still twitches a little at idle and is rock solid when driving. No more flickering lights either :D I just want a spare, just in case

I would but... I would be afraid I wouldn't do a good job and it would catch fire or somthing...
