I have a BBD and a choke kit I am wanting to install but the electric choke has 2 mounting holes and they are in line-w-the choke/choke rod. The thermostat choke on the car now is in the well of the super six exhaust but it is at a right angle to the carb choke linkage so the holes it mounts to are as well. I can't use these holes for the electric choke kit so are there other holes I need to "create"?
Thanks-Howard

Assuming they sent you the correct #1232 kit, which looks exactly like the picture in this thread. These look "wrong" when you hold them in the hand. They fit and work right when you mount them on the manifold. Go ahead and mount it — use the existing original screw holes in the manifold — and you'll see the choke pushrod will hook up to the carburetor just fine (as long as you have a slant-6 BBD. If you have a V8 BBD, you'll have to change the carb's choke lever or make a new choke pushrod because the V8 carb's choke lever is different.)

Well it looks like I got hosed again. It is 1252 kit. It looks almost identical to the one you mentioned but has the rod and slot on the left side of the plate.
I now see this was sold to me as a kit for a slant six but is for a V8. Is there an adaptation known to get a v8 unit to work on a slant?
Thanks

I don't know what a #1252 kit fits, if there is such a kit. If you got a #1252, don't mess around trying to hack it and sorta kinda make it almost work, send it back and get the #1232 you actually need.

If possible maybe I can post a picture of this one. As I said it looks like itis the exact same unit and thinking about it more it appears that the mounting bracket is bent in the opposite direction to what I need-or what the slant calls for. I can't send it back but I also don't see the need to screw with it if you look at the photo and say I should toss it instead of trying to make it work by reconfiguring the mount (as in either cutting it off and welding it to the other side or just bending it so it is like the slant six unit). Is it worth the trouble to post a picture?
Thanks for all the help-Howard

Yeah, post a photo or two. Also please let us know where you bought it, that won't accept a return when they ship the wrong kit, so we can avoid that source.

This is the choke I have.
The picture of the opposite side got lost but it would show the rod on the same side as it shows in this photo except turned over of course so the slot the choke rod rotates on the curved slot in the plate would be on the left side. I hope I can make this work but if not then I'll just wait.
Thanks-Howard

It's a V8 choke. They sent you the wrong one. Why can't you send it back for the correct one?

I lost track of where I purchased this choke. I need to go back through a bunch of emails to see and if I can locate the place I got it from I'll contact them. I looked at one point but had 2 email address thanks to AT&T high jacking my email address for a period of time and the email I used when I purchased the choke may have been the temporary one I had while AT&T and I were at war.
Thanks-Howard
