Hi am considering buying a 64 D200 4door with a slant six and auto trany. How many of these where there ever made. I havent seen to many of them on the road. I am in need of a full sized truck to tow my car hauler and a 64 truck would be great to tow a 64 valiant.

Just curious, can a slant six really pull a car hauler with a car on it?

It might be survivable in Kansas, or Nebraska, but it wouldn't fly anywhere hills exist. I once pulled my '71 Dart on a tow dolly behind my '74 D100 Club Cab, 225, 727 auto and many hills were 25 MPH in low. I'd be willing to bet the '64 has stupid low rear end gears like 4.56 or even 4.88 to move that much truck around with so little engine.

My slant truck was replaced by a 318 van, which was sold after I sold my car trailer. The van with the 318 and 4.10 gears pulled so much better than the 225 pickup with 3.55s that it's not even funny.
