I think I remember a thread about using early mustang rotors to convert SBP KH discs to BBP. does anyone have that tagged? or remember what was involved. any machining needed? different bearings or seals needed?

I did this 30 years ago on a 49 Chev panel.....

I think all you swap are bearings and races.

So you just need the mustang hub/rotor assembly? the bearings are the same? that sounds too easy. I know both setups were made by Kelsey Hayes and I heard the spindles were similar in size. no caliper spacing or anything like that?

Keep in mind I cant remember the slant firing order no less something I did years ago,,,,,,

I think the hub and rotor from the Mustang will accept the Mopar bearings.

I think you might need the fancy seal.

Kelsey contracted to both Ford and Chryco......

Why not use B body stuff?

My recollection is that the early Mustangs use a 4-lug pattern, not 5-lug.

Only the 6-cylinder drum brake cars.

I dont want to use the B body stuff because I've already got the SBP KH setup and it works great. no pulling no sticky calipers and I've got a set of firm feel tubular upper control arms with the small ball joint. it'll be much cheaper to just swap rotors. I'm not doing this right away I'm just trying to figure out what I'll need.

I thought you needed a spacer between the inner bearing and the spindle for this. SSBC basically uses this strategy with the Mustang BBP hubs/rotors on the Mopar spindle.

My memory is gone too. I forgot my ATM pin the other day and I've had this pin for over 20 years! But I do remember the slant six firing order. When I was in high school my shop teach taught me "too young, too old, just right" or 15 36 24. Of course I was 17 at the time. Now that I am pushing 50 I can only dream.

At bit of trivia: "all" straight sixes use the same firing order.
