I have a brand new Mini starter off of a late model 3.9-318-360 here; Factory Mopar, not a Chinese knock off; (dealer buddy's wife cleaning out the garage, while he's at work )
BUT it also has a weather tight plug in connector for the solenoid activation wire rather than the traditional threaded stud.

Does anyone have a Source for that plug, w/o buying a complete wiring harness for an '01-02 truck? I know that I used to be able to buy such pigtails as regulator connectors and such in past years.

How "late model" is late model? Don't use the starter if it doesn't have a nose cone.

IDK exactly how "late model"; I'd say '01-02ish; it does have a nose cone.
It is a "Denso" brand, has a Chrysler PN 56027702 AC
Below that it sys 228000-7421 12V (I know what that means, duh)
and stamped in the foil part of the sticker is 02E-28. (maybe a date code of some sort?) But for N/C I'll try it. There is a threaded stud for the battery terminal but the solenoid wire has a 90* plastic fitting on it that would apparently need to be busted off flush with the solenoid meaning the starter would be unusable.

My buddy who works at a dealership came home one day to his parts cabinet contents being spread out across the garage floor, and the wife going thru them, trying to throw things away. (wife+car parts= you can figure out where this is going; it's all "junk" to her, even though it's all brand new)
Seems they have a double graduation party coming up (son=H.S., daughter, 8th grade) and she wants things gone so that the garage can be used for the party.
As it is, I have 2 garages, one about equal to his, my other one's 10' wider, and a good 15' deeper; yet he has (had?) way more "spare parts" stashed in that 1 garage than I have in my 2, yet he has more "work room" than I do! I got a feeling I'm just "warehousing" some of this for him; we swap parts back n forth often as it is. It's weird though, how many things he calls me for, that used to be taking up space in HIS garage; that he forgets that he ever gave me; and then offers to buy them from me;
I cringe on putting a Jap starter on my old truck, but it was free. and now my header on that side won't be resting against the starter no more.
I'm gonna miss the sound of the 26 year old Mopar "whiney" starter.
but I need the connector. If I don't come up with a source I might have to go check out all the intrepids and minivans at the local 'yard. (like to have a new connector though, if I can)

I emailed the starter numbers in, we'll see. thanks for the link.

Let me know what you find. I also have one of those starters. I have the connector but the wire is cut off really short so it will be hard to use.

I find myself wondering if I am the only one who can see my earlier post in this thread. The one that links to a post with photos and part numbers for the inexpensive piece needed to eliminate the requirement for special terminals.

I looked at it earlier when you posted it and once again after you asked if you were the only one to see it; the description under the LH adaptor with the single post that says "the solenoid wire attatches directly no adaptation needed" seems just opposite of what I see here; BAT terminal could go on there as-is, but the solenoid connector definitely needs something different. Thanks for trying, though. I guess I hit the junkyard, with a pair of side cuts in hand, and see what I can find there.

Have a third look — longer this time — and you will see that three out of the four terminal adaptor assemblies shown give you one large threaded stud for the battery cable, and one small threaded stud for the solenoid trigger wire. Which is exactly what you have on the old-type starter.

There is no special wire or terminal needed. If there were, there would be constant posts on here about how and where to find this special wire or terminal. And there isn't; people just grab, install, hook up and use these starters.

Looking at a starter for an '01 is appears the solenoid terminal is separate from the battery terminal and is not a bolt-on adapter piece like earlier Denso starters.

1. Starter shown will have same two adjacent posts if adaptor (type on this starter you show is not shown in my photo) is removed. Then, other adaptor can be installed.

2. Starter shown has no nosecone and is not suitable for use in our cars.

The one I have, looks like the one Joshie posted, BUT has the nose cone; and it "appears" that taking the adaptor off would not be feasible, as it "appears" to go "Thru" the case. and that the starter would be ruined to take that piece off; that's why I'm leery to try it; I don't wanna ruin a brand-new starter. This is the 1st one like this, that I've seen, most I'm familiar with, look like what you posted in your link. If you, or someone we know has removed that piece successfully on the starter terminal like in Joshie's picture,, w/o rendering the starter unusable, I'd feel more comfortable "trying" it;
