Mine took extra time for two reasons: I specifically said "No hurry" because I didn't have an immediate need, and the builder had to specially order a core thin enough to fit my '62's tight radiator space. So, it took about 3-4 weeks.

From left to right: 1971 Volvo 164E, 1964 MG B, 1962 Volvo P1800.

Side by side there's not so much similarity betwixt Stude and P1800 but interestingly, since the Volvo's mostly unbadged, the most common guess is the one you made.

Wow, that rad looks great! The price is a little out of my range, but ya get what ya pay for!
That radiator should also work as good as it looks.

This last summer I paid over $300 to have my 60 Valiant radiator redone here in Seattle. So a brand new one for $400 sounds reasonable. But then again everything in Seattle is expensive.

Would your friend be interested in making another? I have a 63 valiant that had a rotten radiator when I picked it up, got about 45 miles out of town on my way home when I noticed the temp shoot way up and the steam. Luckily (sort of) I was only a mile from an exit that had a garage. They even had a 68 dart out front that they had just rebuilt the engine on. I left the car there for them to find a new radiator, me having no experience with my car (or really working on any) yet.
Picked it up the next week and had a used radiator they had found and put in. It was a mopar from the later 60's from another A body. I didn't look too closely though.
Last week I'm driving home and take a sharp curve at around 15 and I hear a funny scraping noise. Then I smell the radiator fluid. Fan had nicked the radiator. I was about 12 miles from home and had a few jugs of water so I made it. A little JB weld and it's patched up.

I'd really like a new setup though. Car has the under-dash aftermarket A/C, and this last summer when it was 105 degrees I couldn't run A/C without getting dangerously hot.

I'd like to revive discussion on this thread since it appears that with summer coming again, improved cooling is the next thing on my to-do list.

Dan, are you still satisfied with this radiator, or is there anything you would like to change?

Do you think the '64 configuration in aluminum could be modified to provide enough room for a clutch fan?

Has anyone had additional experience with other suppliers?
