Hey All,

My Chrysler/Federal ps pump on my 68 val is lealing like a seive. It is coming from the o-ring seal around the body/tank of the pump. About a 4.25 to 4.5 in o-ring. Anyhow, NAPA and a couple of other parts houses around here can't seem to find a seal kit for it. There has to be one out there! Everything they turn up is for the Saginaw pump.

Anyone know the Chrysler/Fedderal part #'s for this kit?

Thanks for any help,

CE

Slightly off topic, so how hard is it to rebuild a PS pump? Does it require special tools? Is it described in the Service Manual?

Fully described in FSM. Pulley and bearing removal/installation may require press.

Dan,

Thank you for those #'s. I was able to cross one of them at Advance Auto and they ordered a kit for me. Should be in on Friday. Unfortunately it also cross referenced at NAPA as the Saginaw pump kit and not the Chrysler pump kit.

I guess we'll see on Friday when it arrives!

Again, Thanks,

CE

I would also add that the .94, .96 and 1.06 pumps have slightly different procedures in the fsm. But all of the "special" tools they call for look like things you could use a little creativity to accomplish.

I will know for certian in a few days :) !

P/Ns for the Saginaw kit are Edelmann #7918 (without new bearings), Gates #351160 (without new bearings), ACDelco 36350390 (with new bearings) or 36351160 (without new bearings), or NAPA #7127 (without new bearings).

Sounds like your local NAPA has something the matter with their interchange info or how they're using it.

iiiiinteresting, then what is coming may well be right. That would be a pleasant surprise. I'll report back after I get the parts on Friday.

Well it wasn't the right kit :(

The 8507 kit contained the seals for the Saginaw not the Chrysler pump. Ah well, back to the drawing board.

Actually I shouldn't have said that so matter of factly. There were two chrysler pumps. .96 and .94.

I have a .96, the kit could be for a .94 pump (or the wrong Chrysler pump from my stand point)
