Just to show I want to get along, how about I address you as RP, that way R can mean Ron to you and R can mean something else to me.
I figured out why you despise Team Green so much. It is because we did all our own work and we out ran you all the time. I went back and looked at a few SSRN and found in SSRN#19 your article about your lucky season. You whined about one round all season in the article which was when I drilled you with a .504 light. (That was done with a stick shift car) It must really upset you that I beat you because you torpedoed the Mo-Kan slant points race years later.
I owe you nothing. Respect is earned not begged for. Most champions earn their title and a few get lucky like you. I would rather have the quickest non nitrous, non forced induction door car than a championship but that is just me. CHEER UP and get over me out driving you when we raced.

Mark

I suggest there are two or three posters that need to re-read the thread header again.

Seems to have gotten a bit off-track in here.

GTS225 you are right. The photo shoot was either 2004 or 2005 at the Kansas City MoPar race. I am glad it finally made it in the magazine because the thing was a work of art. The chassis was chrome plated chrome moly specifically made for a slant six. It was built in 1978. All fasteners were aluminum or titanium. I heard the owner parted it out. He just wanted the Hilborn injection????

DAMN!! I knew that tractor existed clear back in the early 80's, when I started looking for a Hilborn piece myself. Never did make it to the original owner's to look it over.
If it really did get parted, it's a damn shame.

Now back to slant racing. I wonder how many of those hilborn injectors are still floating around. I have an origional hyper pac intake but would love to get my hands on one of those injected intakes.

Bob Stepp has one of the Hilborn covers on an aluminum block in his living room.

At one time there was talk of reproducing the intakes. Don't know if it ever happened.

NO green team i doint hate you I enjoy all Slanters. If you will call back several years at mokan when Dale rose came out there and Mike Jefferys and all of you pro boys and it got rained out. Then the points did not count if you went back and made up the race. Remember that Markl it was not me who made up that rule . It was Mike Jefferys. Think ? I know my junk caint run with you or Dale or Mike , hell I know you can beat me. But go several rounds like I do every race against Ron Hamby, Dale Rose, Norm Foster, Rodney Harigs, The Bruners, Charlie Myers, Lou Madsen, Bagel, and other racers. Let it go Mark. Let it go. Your Racing friend Ron
