Cory, you need to contact Johnny with your report on the mount he shipped to you.
He has not heard from anybody, so did not move forward to make production molds.
If you are not going to be able to get that mount in and tested right away, you need to get it to somebody that can.

Dan, contact Johnny right away. He hasn't heard anything.

If people are interested in this part, contact me. We'll get some numbers together for Johnny to see if making the production molds will be worth his time and effort.

If anyone wishes to go to Johnny's site visit www.polybushings.com You will find contact information there.
There is no information on the spool mount for the slant six on the site as yet. Johnny hasn't received feedback so thought nobody was interested. This isn't a good way to treat a potential supplier. Cory, get the sample tested or ship it back. Dan, call Johnny.

This is a really nice part reasonably priced. It's not an asian piece of garbage like you get off the shelves these days.
Johnny has developed a one piece part that is of a softer material for road cars. I run the relatively harder two piece for my race application.

See the sticky at the top of Engine that deals with the same subject matter. I contacted Johnny yesterday to order another one. His email reply caught me off guard.

I'm talking to him, but hopefully Dan will be able to get some info to him soon.
Go up on Johnny's web site and shoot him an email outlining what you want to order. That will give him a reason to continue on.

If you want to check one out, I have one mounted on the driver's side, and ordered one for the passenger side today.

Back out to the shop. Thor's car is cooling off in the driveway, Steph is due, and Fopar just rolled in with 6 Pac 2 Go! :D

I'm not sure what information I can give Johnny, other than to point him at this thread — I don't own a car with spool mounts!

Please, Ted and everyone who is interested in these, contact Johnny directly via e-mail or phone — his contact info is on his website at www.polybushings.com . Ceej reports the race/HD bushing is good as-is and could be made better only by making the flanges slightly thinner to ease installation. Cory (75customdart on here) has not been back to me with results of his installation of the street bushing. I've sent him a PM; we definitely need feedback from him right away or if he's not at a point where he can install them now, he needs to send them immediately to someone who can. We definitely don't want to make Johnny think he's wasting his time on us; the next project I want to do with him is better mounts for the '62-'66 cars!

Hey guys i finally got a weekend off of work and was able to head to the garage. I installed the mount on saturday and it was simple to press in, yesturday i took the dart for a 250 mile cruise. The mount made the motor solid in the engine bay. I noticed no large change in noise or vibration and if any change I would have to say there is less vibration.
I feel these mounts are good to go as-is. I have sent an email to johnny with my results and requested an order of two sets for myself.

E-mail sent to Johnny. This is good news. I have one, decent, NOS Borg Warner, made-in-USA mount but everything else I've been able to find for several years now has been made-in-Mexico or made-in-India, pure CRAP. Thanks to all who were responsible for instigating this.

Just got off the phone with Johnny. The mount has been redesigned as a one-piece item (the type he sent to Cory/75CustomDart). It fits and works well. Available variants are hard or soft, blue or black. Since the new mount hasn't got the air gaps and holes of the original soft rubber item, he doesn't feel even a race car should need the harder material, but it's available for whoever might want it. The side flanges have been made a little thinner to ease installation of the mount into the K-frame.

I would have bought a set, still might. I can return the Korean rubber ones for the Dart. I can call tomorrow.

Took Johnny all of 30 minutes to reply to my e-mail. I'd call THAT customer service!

Cory, could you post your report in the sticky about the mounts so it doesn't get lost as this thread ages?
Thanks for taking care of the issue so quick!

I'm looking forward to seeing what johnny comes up with for the early A mounts. Dan is sending me a set of mounts to line up on my '63 so we can see what mods need to be made.

We'll get the info to Johnny, and hopefully soon we'll have a great new part to install on our older K-frames! :D
