Just found out today that Meril Bruner and his brother Ralph that is Gary Bruners Dad were in a serious auto accident friday. Meril has a broken ankle and both bones in his right arm are broke. Ralph broke five ribs and has punchured lung and is serious condition. They were in Merils 68 Valiant and was hit by a truck. what probaly saved there lives was being in that Valiant. Talked to Meril today and hopes to go home tomorrow. I will keep everybody posted. Keep all of our family in your prayers and thoughts. Thanks Ron Parker

Thanks for the update Ron, and I'll put in some prayers and a good word too...sad to hear something like that especially about legends in our field.

I received an update that Ella (Merils wife) caught the Flu from visiting Him in the Hospital. We have sent Prayers and Smoke for them.

That's awful news. I've never met Meril, but I've watched his dedicated involvement with the slant-6 community for many years. I hope he and his recover fast and well.

I spoke with Meril yesterday and he seemed in great spirits and vowed to be at the Knoxville race, although not driving...

The last time I talked to Meril, he had "mended" but was still working on getting stronger, he said his arm is giving him the most pain and trouble as far as getting back to normal.

Meril is up and around, and has won a few rounds at the races last year. Still mending though, as The Good Doctor says.
