So then a 390 Holley double pumper (not sure why can't use vacuum secondary yet but still learning) would not be too bad a carb then for a turbo set up eh? Until the turbo was all built and ready to go, how painful would it be living with the double pumper on a mild slant with heavy car? Perhaps when I get a carb I will go the 390 double pumper thinking of the future. Does that plan sound reasonable?

I have the Mighty Demon 575 w/ annular boosters. My car ran as quick as 11.48 w/ only half of the Demon (under 300 cfm). If your on a strict budget, maybe stay w/ a 2bbl intake and carb. If you already have the 4bbl intake than disregard my post. If not than maybe put your money into something else like Methanol kit or intercooler. Both are much needed parts. Later.

Looks like the smallest Mighty Demon is a 650 now... That smaller Holley 390 is looking better to me assuming those who know think so as well.

Thats the thing, I am trying to make a turbo /6 that runs on pump gas, not menethol, remember the OP stated that he wants to daily drive it after setup.

Which brings the question, 2bbl, or 4bbl, Any difference in Horsepower gain? can the 2bbl handle a 20+ PSI turbo and intercooler?

I have alotta questions and trying to get as much information as possible before I start hammering my engine with a sledge.

I know I wont put everything on it then hammer them all in. I will most likely start with discs and rear end, and maybe a 4bbl intake and carb, tune that up, then after that a turbo and intercooler.

Right now everything is in limbo as im trying to find out on prices and information first before I start doing lovely stuff to the car.

To respond to the other poster, Im looking for a 12 second 1/4 mile car that I can still drive around town. Somthing similar to Shaker223's setup.

((5000 edits later)) And No im not on a strict budget. But I dont want to spend thousands of dollars just to get this set up.

The set up is just gonna be there just when I need that extra power to get on ramp or get a lil respect once in a while, its not a everyday drag car its supposed to be a street car that gives people a run for their money.

To build a 12 reliable second car you will spend thousands of dollars. How many thousands (2-3k is probably realistic for the turbo and fuel systems) greatly depends on your resourcefulness, fabrication skill and tuning skills. If you buy everything retail, have parts fabricated for you and tuning done elsewhere you can easily spend twice as much. And if the tuning isn't right you could scatter the engine.

You aren't going to run the engine completely on methanol. The methanol is a supplemental fuel and coolant injected under boost conditions only. Most of the fuel consumed can be pump premium.

The 390 Holley that Hard Charger brought up is meant as a restrictor carb for Sprint Cup cars. You have to do some modifications to use one on a smaller engine like ours. It's also about $700 as delivered. Starting with a 350 CFM Holley 2bbl is going to be cheaper and easier and will support a 12 second car with the right mods and the modifications will be relatively simple. Getting a slant to run well and not suck down huge quantities of fuel with a 600 or 650 CFM double pumper will not be easy.

You had me thinking 2 barrel at 700 clams

This post's content has been edited mid reply by the quiet little angel on my right shoulder... The dude on my left shoulder however has me getting up after this post to get him a tall cocktail as a good will gesture for not cussing in my reply like Sam Kinison at the Improv on this very respectable forum over a 7 hundred dollar carb...

There was a forum member who used that 80507-1 390 Holley. The drilled throttle plates were replaced with solid ones, the idle feed restrictions were reduced and jet changes were made. He decided to swap in a V8 and sold the carb. I bought it with the idea of running forced induction on my own slant six. I think the idle restriction need to be reduced more and wish the carb had provisions for vacuum advance.
