been a while since i have been on here but i am back with the valiant. she is running fairly well now and thanks to everyone for all the help before. since this is not my daily or even weekend driver i am wanting it to be a nasty little lead sled. meaning, dropped low and not look all that great as far as cosmetics go. i don't really want anyone to like it other than me. yesterday i dropped the front end by adjusting on the torsion bars and i was going to do a shackle flip in the rear but can't for the life of me figure out how to do it. if i flipped the shackles they would be inside the trunk. so i was thinking that i would get some lowering blocks and u bolts from speedway but was wondering if anyone has used them before and with what kind of results. i realize they are just chunks of aluminum but still would like some feed back. or if someone can shed light on the shackle flipping. either way, thanks in advance. james.

You don't flip the rear shackles, you flip the front spring hanger.

Most inexpensive lowering blocks are die-cast, weak, and only 2 1/4" wide. When I lowered the rear of my Dakota I bought cast iron "lift" blocks from Summit Racing. They were 2 1/2" wide like our leaf springs and did not crack.

Flip the front spring hangar or buy adjustable ones from Firm Feel. If that isn't low enough get some 2 1/2" wide billet aluminum lowering blocks.

These?

That type breaks. You need solid blocks. Again, try the spring hanger flip first.
