I have a '68 valiant that I want the front parking lights ( in the grille) to come on with the headlights. They did not come on from the factory until 1969 and up models.

How do I go about doing this?

I have already changed the headlight to a 1979 unit and the parking lights still do not come on yet with the headlights.

makes me think it's just wired different if the switch change didnt get 'em on.

Thanks!

Greg

Got a wiring diagram?

You want to jump the P & R connectors in the headlight switch.

I pulled the connector off the switch, jumped the wires on the switch, and put the connector back on the switch.

Am I correct in thinking the split was 65-66 in Canada?

Everytime I get DOTeed in the Valaint I have to explain the parking light/side light thing to His Occifer. It deflects us from more pertinent issues.......

I go into the world each day knowing that sooner or later Im goona be tazerd.........for mouthing off......

I don't know what year the parking-lamps-on-with-headlamps thing started on the Barracuda. It was mentioned specifically in the '67 Barracuda print ads, then it was mandated for '69 on all new cars in the U.S. and Canada. So it's possible the '67 Barracuda was the first A-body to get parking lamps that stay on with the headlamps.
