So I am probably get to mounting the fuel cell in the valiant sometime soon.. I think it has a 3 gallon Capacity.

I was going to try to mount it up under the RF fender a'la Ron Hamby style but That will not work with my cell so It's going back into the spare tire well. Which was rotted out anyway.

What Kind of lines etc do I need to use to pass tech and be legal?

I was thinking to go from the -AN line to the Stock steel Hard line on the car then up to the Stock fuel pump.

The other concern I have is with the vent on the cell.

I have seen others sort of connect a Twisted circle of Hard line that exits down under the floor pan or trunk pan of the car.

Thanks for the felp.

Greg

As long as you dont use a bunch of rubber line you should be ok. Metal fuel filter, less than 12 inches of rubber line total. I have the twisted fuel line vent. Some of the tracks I went to wanted 2 clamps on the rubber line instead of 1. If you go AN braided you can do just about anything you want.

If the trunk floor is rotten enough to be missing you will need a sheet steel plate under the cell. IIRC it will need to be at least .024 thick.

If you have a roll over valve in your vent line all you will need is a U shaped line that extends below the trunk floor.

If you have a plastic cell make sure you hook a ground wire from one of the mounting bolts in the filler ring to a clean ground on the trunk floor. That will prevent a static discharge when filling.

Thanks Dennis.. It's only rotted away Where the old spare tire holddown / Gas tank Strap attaching point is. It will have to be cutout for the fuel cell lines to exit. I will be fabbing up some sheetmetal supports for it too.

Thnaks for the tip on the ground strap!
