I just spoke with Brian Nutter and he is checking on how long to get these sets made - likely in about 4 wks.

Who wants to order a set of these for the ~$500 price in the next month?

I told Brian I'd get him a number of sets for their production run. I have 4 as of now.

Right now, I need committed folks who want a set in the next 4-6 wks only.

Forged Wiseco piston at 3.504 (.104 o/s) with a 1.585 (?) compression height (use with 7.006 con rods) with .901 pin (floating or press?)

If these like the others, they are flat top pistons with big valve releafs that will get you about 10.5 to 1 compression with no head or block milling.

Will the set come with the pins and the rings... like the last set I received from Wiseco??

Yes, these will be complete kits like last time with valve reliefs, rings, pins, and locks. Brian says they are tending to skirt coat all of their pistons now, so they will likely have that too.

These are for 7.005" K1 or 198 stock rods use for around 10.5:1 comp, floating pins, forged lightweight piston.

doug would the compression height be to low to use these pistons on 225rods in a blown engine??

You would end-up .310 down in the hole. (negitive deck)
A quick check yields a 6.61 to 1 static C/R

Hmmm... I wonder how they'd work with a certain crankshaft I've been saving.... With the short comp hgt, would the small end balance pads need smoothing? I figured I'd have to completely round the end off for other pistons I've considered. Also, I know our cranks don't usually require rebalancing, but what with these custom piston sets? Any details on ring tension/bore finish? I was saving some dough for a big party soon, but I think I can cut some corners.

Nice talking with you last night. Balancing does not matter on an inline 6 crank (bobweight), like it does on an I4 or a V8. I think 225 rods, 4.5" stroke, and some deck milling (about 0.150") would work? I'd have to run numbers...

These are for K1 rods, and would work with 198 rods too if you bush the small end, or some people have floated pins on the iron (Slantzilla). You might also press the included pins into the 198 rods, or ask for a different pin? Doug might comment on this. Most blocks will go well over 0.104 overbore with no trouble.

The more tune I throw at this old slant of mine the more I can see I better start thinking about my first engine rebuild.

Would these pistons along with no head or block shaving make for a good street engine on pump gas with 74 225 block stock connecting rods? Reading up on the head or block shaving and how that changes other things has me thinking of ways to increase compression ratio without the shave. I'd be open to a new cam but I'm not sure about putting in bigger valves since I think I have hardened seats already not to mention budget.

HEI, MSD B3, Magnecor 8 mm, ZFR5N, .060 rotor, CH410X cap, new 3874814 dist, fuel mod, valves hot .010 & .020, all new hoses, JP chain, brake hoses and fluid.

These pistons have to be used with the longer (7.006) connecting rods.
(K1 or the factory 198 rods)
This is a well known (racer) SL6 engine combo (the "long rod" 225) and I have run many of them over the years, with good success. (using 198 con rods and 2.2 pistons)

For a factory 198 con rod, you can leave the pin as a press fit or have the small end honed-out and float it, directly on the steel... but I titanium-nitride the pins when doing that.

Great! They are checking on the K1 rods current stock. If they are out of stock, it will take 4-6 wks to get new ones made, according to Tom Molnar.
