Greg where are you getting your numbers? With .210 off total you will be alot higher than 10 to 1. Im at better than 11 to 1 with .150 off. And for most combinations .100 off(in what ever combination you want) is about the max before you need push rods.
My02.

Well I never Officially CC'd My heads So I really do not know. Maybe my engine is higher than that.

Greg
Greg and Others
FYI .100 off the head yielded 37.5cc volume with the "Ford 300" 1.78/1.50 valves NOT recessed (sunk)into the head. The ZFR5N extended reach plugs decrease your cc's by exactly 1/2 cc.
This was on a 74 head. I cannot tell you if the head was cleaned up prior to this or not.
Just for reference PLEASE measure.
Frank

After reading everything in this forum, I decided to wait until the season is over and rebuild the entire motor. I've been told various things but it seems consistent that milling the head and decking the block are no problem. Have any of you used Cliffords rebuild kit which includes a hp cam? $800 for a rebuild kit and cam seems very reasonable.

You can do alot better than that. PAW and Others out west. Use Erson for cam. springs, lifters, locks and keepers. Engine Builder for valves.

Dan, you mentioned recurving the distributor. Can you explain what that means and what is entailed? Thanks, Dave.
