Since I am making the trip to Kearney NE in August I am going to pass on this run. I have 2 good blocks laying around waiting for a deal like this but the $$$ just isn't there these days.

What head gaskets do you use with a large over bore?? Are the Remflex (going off of memory on the name) gaskets large enough???

Chris,

The Felpro head gaskets are just barely large enough, and there are two different Aussie types that will work (ACL and Permaseal).

I will try to get Brian to keep 1-2 sets on the shelf for future ordering.

Lou

I would love to take advantage of this but will also have to wait. I am trying to concentrate on custom frame and suspension components. Hoping to have rolling chasis by this time next year.

Sounds good, Menko. I'll get back with Brian Nutter with a total count of 5 sets, and will try to get him to make at least one extra for his shelf.

Likely these will take 4 wks or more, so that may free up cash for some folks.

If anyone else wants a set, let me know ASAP.

Cheers,

Lou

No worries, more time is always better for the cash flow these days ;) My consulting money should be coming in soon, so I'll be able to buy some car parts on a clear conscience.

I am talking to Brian Nutter today or tomorrow. If anyone else wants a 3.504" bore piston set on this order, let me know ASAP.

We have 5 total at the moment.

Thanks,

Lou

Hey Lou,

Thanks for taking the lead on this. Sorry I dropped the ball on you guys waiting for feedback from Brian on timeframes. I've been a bit pre-occupied with other things lately. I'm glad to see this is still moving forward.

Shouldnt the other order for the .085 and .105 be about ready anyway? I thought the lead time was about 3 months on these from overseas.
Ill need 2 sets (1 of each) but not ready money wise yet.
Just trying to get the correct scoop.
Thanks,
Frank

Lou,

I am going to need a set. I want to get the pistons and the k-1 rods. Need them within 3 months. Do we need to prepay?

Brian Nutter called me and they are making 3 extras of the 3.504" piston sets (after Menko, Aussies (2), Greg, and me) for a total of 8. They have a production due date of 9/11/09.

There are no plans for 3.485" at the moment, AFAIK.

I still need update on the rod sets from K1, and will hopefully have that info soon.

Best,

Lou

Thanks Lou for keeping us updated, its most appreciated.

I am definitely in for the rods as well, so if that's going to take longer than the 9/11 date, no problem.

Lou;

I am still going to order 1ea. set 3.504, I need some dome machining done, about 20cc reverse dome. I will discuss that with Brian at the time of the order.

My motor is a 8.821 compression ratio blower motor using a Eaton M112. I have calculated the dome to be about .120" deep if I keep its outer edge completely inside of the ring groove below it. I will discuss that with Brian at the time of the order. As I am sure there will be an additional charge for machining.

I am also going to order the K1 rods.

Put me in for 1 ea set of pistons and 1ea. set of rods

Thanks Jim
