I am in the process of converting over to an HEI system I want to stay with a canister coil for looks I want to hide the GM system. I read somwhere that the recommended canister coil for this set-up has 1300 to 1500 resistance rating, but I can't find the link again to this information. I just want to be sure that I am spending the money in the right place. thank you and have a Great Day Jim.

honestly...If your switching to the HEI go with the gm stuff..I just did it and tested both to see the diff. I have a canister style fire power and the stock GM unit blew it away..no joke..

Every thing I read says that both can be used...but the GM will last longer and perform better... check the links on the sticky post in the electrical section..It has alot of different ideas

just my two cents worth :)
