I have a slant six in my 1935 Dodge Brothers pickup, built as a highboy (no fenders). Well cruising season is over so it's time to fix all the glitches and add the refinements accumulated over the summer. First project is to replace the stock manifold with a two 2-barrel setup on an Offy manifold I got off ebay.

How in the heck do you guys with fenders manage to get the manifolds off? I struggled like crazy and I have all the room in the world. I do have a new respect for you guys and gals!

On the same subject, someone on this Board was using 2-barrel Carter-Webber carbs. This is the same setup i"m using and I would like to find out what kind of air cleaners he is running. Anyone remember that thread?

Thanks so much,
John

Prebook Physiotherapist, buy Arnica/ Voltaren Gel in bulk, flex drivers in quarter inch size - PATIENCE and penetrating fluid Extra set of hands/engine hoist if you pull the head

When I reassemble - Spanjaard anti-seize copper compound on the threads
aka copper grease saves a lot of pain later on

One thing I cant figure - DOC assembling the head upside down - the WHY I understand Even the how - but damn that combo is heavy

I read in the rules that you cannot post pictures in the thread. Is that correct?

I hope not or I am going to be ban from the site

Pics are appreciated! Sometimes that is the only way to explain something.

Certain moderators would prefer you posted according to the forum guidelines but I struggle with that due to dial-up internet speeds (wireless). So I use photobucket as a host.

Er...huh? The two are completely compatible. It doesn't matter where you host your photos; posting according to site guidelines is just good manners.

This is probably one of the best ways to post pics. It keeps the bandwidth usage down, and overall costs as well.
I'd suggest setting yourself up with an "account" at one of the free photo-hosting sites, then include the link in your text here.

The Durta Duals are still available, but are pretty spendy. I have a set of
/6 headers I picked up at a swap meet that I think can be modified to fit my truck.

Doc or Doctor Dodge on this forum is Doug Dutra so PM him. John I have a set of truck headers 6-1 that I would trade for car headers. PM me if interested.

Headers would look way cooler than anything else.
