Car Model:
Hello,
I have a 1975 225 slant six. That i will be pulling out of a Dart Swinger to get it painted. And I figured while I had the engine out I would tear it down and try and rebuild it and maybe hop it up a little.

I have a budget of $500 to $800 for parts. I have a shop lined up here in Kansas City to port, polish, and mill the head and block for about $400. This cost will be on top of the $500 to $800 for parts. What I want out of the engine is a around town cruiser mainly with good power off the line but still be drivable on the highway. Gas mileage is not a big concern because this will not be a daily driver.

What I would like is recommendations of what I can do to the engine for the money I have and good places to buy parts. I know little to nothing about working on car engines. I have ordered the service manuals and Stockel's Auto Mechanics Fundamentals.

Thanks in advance for the help,
John
