My intake is the aluminum two piece type. The welding is ( I would say) porous looking. I sand it and it looks good, just the welds don't look right. Can I fix this, or how can I test it for leaks, I do not want to put everything back together , with something not right.
Probably not, but what about putting JB weld over top of the welds.

I have fixed several by using JB weld and then shooting it with epoxy paint or powder coating.
