After picking up the Guzzi car after haveing tranny redone, manual reverse valve body, and a spool installed, driveing it back to my shop 5 miles away I now have a race car that is barely streetable. Will go to the track tommorrow and see if $3,000 is worth a 10th,sure hooks and shifts ALOT harder.I am feeling a 7.991.Mark

Good luck at the track. I have a spool in my street car and what i do is just run around on junker tires on the street and mount the sticky tires at the track. Having the junk tires lets the axles slip a bit easier in turns, which can save your axles alot of abuse :D

Hi Mark,at Sacramento the launch seemed weird, your traction was unequaled and you could hear the engine rev at the 2/3 shift. Dont know how much the gear will help, but the valve body will probably be worth .05 and traction and 60 foot numbers should inprove some. The 7.99will be squashed. Be ready for some suspension adjustments. I assume you still have torsion bars and leaf springs.

Did you ever get the trans straightened out? We were having the same 2-3 flair up issue.

Motor, trans, rear end and car pretty well all sorted out, weakest link right now is driver.Even IF I drove the car perfect,I think I am close to being where its all its got with 200 rwhp. New motor build in the works, closer to 300 than I am now, should get me where I want to bee.
I now want the fastest all motor door slammer slant 6 car I can drive back and forth to work, only 1 mile.High goals are a challenge too me.After doing the math,I think lower 8s in the 1/8th are possible, but not 7s.Realistic Guzzi Mark

You are doing great, Mark. I can't see how you're going that fast myself. I would drive a licensed Top Fuel Funny car 1 mile to work, so who knows...
