Picked up an 8.25" LBP '74 Duster rear axle (3.55 posi, wohoo!) and I need to put the brakes together. It has the stock backing plates on it and I've got a whole bunch of parts that came with it as well as the newly redone 10" brakes from my '70 Valiant 7.25" (although after some research looks like nothing will swap over). I was wondering if someone had a diagram of the Duster rear brakes I could reference for assembly as well as any info on what parts I may be able to use from my Valiant axle (if any).

Been searching quite a bit and haven't come up with anything so any help would be greatly appreciated!

You're correct that none of the small bolt pattern parts fit except maybe a hold-down or return spring. Complete spring kits are not expensive.

And the shoe with the shorter lining goes towards the front, correct?
