:?: I read in the article about manifold installation that the assembly slides in relation to the engine block.

Just how much does it slide?

I'm upgrading to the super six for my 71 D100 and the front of the exhaust manifold bumps up against the airconditioner compressor.

I would say about 1/8 of an inch per end (.125) from dead cold to red hot.

Sounds like you may need to do a little grinding work.
