Sorry about this but I'm finding my search abilities has gone from bad to worse. I think I've got brain cells dying by the minute.
Is there a posting that deals with the updating of an early A body (62) to super six? I've tried searching and have found bits and pieces but can't seem to find anything on the complete swap. Also, would section 14-77 in the service manual be of any assistance as a visual aid??
I'm about to start the swap and want to be as sure as I can that I'll only do it once.

Thanks guys. That helps a lot, probably just enough to get me in trouble. Old6rodder is more of a fabricator than I am. I've got the newer style cable and am hoping for more of a bolt up. I'm hoping that should work except for the newer gas pedal. I'll check in again when I find the can of worms.

If memory serves, you can bolt an F/M body gas pedal to the firewall and run the later style cable throttle simply by drilling a few holes. I have never done much work on an early A, so I can't tell you how the throttle cable mod works on that firewall.

I've picked up a couple of cables and a couple of different pedals. I was hoping that someone would have a picture or two before I did the trial and error method of pedal placement.

I thought about making the swap to the cable pedal so I could drop in a v8 on my 66'. I pulled a pedal assembly of a 71' duster and by the looks of it all I had to do was drill two holes for the bolts and that was it. the hole for the linkage was the right size for the cable and the placement was fine. I didn't actually do the swap though, I could not bring my self to put that 318 in my car. Slants are just too cool!

Frankinfish, You are sooo right about slants. Do you know if the floor configuration on your 66 would be the same as my 62?? That would be really great news.
The next question is can I leave my exhaust alone or does that have to be swapped out as well for the soon to be (OK, next spring) 2 1/4" exhaust?? I've got a newer unit but can't see much difference except for the choke pocket and the heat riser spring is screwjee on it. I think I'm going electric choke the way SSDan suggested.

I'm not sure on the fire wall of the 62'. I found a pic of a 62' dart fire wall on cardomain, it wasn't that good but it did look like there really wasn't much of a difference. On the exhaust I wouldn't say you had to change it right away but you will in order to get the best performance. I hope I helped you out.
