Oh yeah I forgot to mention the Intake valves were too loose and the exhaust valves where too tight. Im thinking the fuel pump is at fault along with the carb a little. Im going to change both to be on the safe side since im getting this car running to be a relable daily driver till the 360/727/8.75 goes in. Ive always had a fondness for the leaning tower of power ever since my 1964 barracuda.

Changing the fuel pump is a pretty easy job. Take the hoses loose first, pull the two bolts loose that hold it to the block. Don't forget to get a new gasket. Sometimes they don't come with them.

also turn engine over until fuel pump is not on the pump stroke, It will make puting it on much easier. This is found by trial, and you will not run the risk of getting the arm on wrong side if cam.
