Hey guys, I was over at my friends bodyshop last wed. night {partaking of the liquid dipschidt }. Another bud of mine shows up and we get to talking about my truck. I happen to mention that it is a 1979 W150. He says "no, it is a 1980". I guess that all the 1980 power wagons had a little sticker of a ram on the fender which mine still does. Also, he mentions that my grill has the blacked out treatment between the horizontal bars (he's a real nut when it comes to those trucks) (what is left of the paint is original!) I ask "didn't all of the 1980's have the quad stacked headlight grille?" "No, those were optional" he says "well then, what about the title. It says 1979 right on it. Registration too." He says" open the door and look at the tag/date. sure enough, built on 12/13/79. That makes it a 1980 I would think. I am trying to figure this out and the best I can come up with is this: The truck was originally sold to a small city as part of their mantinance fleet. I'm thinking that mother mopar kinda ran out of time fufilling their order and gave them some '80 models but they were titled as '79's.
Does this sound logical? All opinions welcome!!

That build date would definitely make it a 1980 model. Confirmation would come from the sixth character of the VIN (on pre-1981 Chrysler products; 10th character of any vehicle '81 or later).
