I have a pair of Dorman 618-101 Wheel Bearing Dust Caps; they are 1 25/32 diameter according to both Rock Auto and Dorman web sites but they are loose in the rotor. I measured one of the old caps at 1.817 with a caliper. That works out to very close to 1 13/16. There is 618-503 cap but I can find no information about it's diameter. Does anyone have a good part number for this cap?

Your measured size comes out to just a hair over 46mm.

618-503 is 1.96875" outer diameter, which will be too big for your 1.8125" inner diameter hub.

I'm not seeing anything in the Dorman line that's just slightly bigger than the 618-101.

What hubs are you working with, here? This outfit just rebuilt my brake booster. I'm going to be down there again on Monday and can stop by and see if they have the caps you need.

The rotors are Raybestos 7032R, brand new. Perhaps I'd better check the bearings as well.

Well, gosh, looks like you can still get that cap from Chrysler under p/n 3580 894...for only twenty-five bucks apiece!

I'll see what I can come up with down in Hamilton on Monday.

I suppose I can peen them out a little to make them work. I used to do that many years ago when I was working as a mechanic. But still, it seems to me that the correct size should available. Thanks for your help Dan.

I crossed 3580 894 on the Dorman website and got the Dorman number 13975 which appears to be the same product as the one I have, only in different packaging.

The Mopar 894 cap was used on tons of cars from 1973 to 1988. Pretty easy to find a good set in any wrecking yard.

I think I'm going to try to peen these out a few thousanths and see if I can make them work. If that fails I'll go check a salvage yard.

Problem solved... I had a conical inner race from a pinion bearing; I ground the lip off the small end and then pressed it into the dust cap opening to spread it open a bit. Worked like a charm.

Might pay to shell out. The aftermarket ones aren't nearly as deep and, unless you are VERY careful with cotter pin installation, the pin can hit the cap and fill the hub with shavings. Don't ask me how I know this...
