Hi Sandy,

You might be correct -- it definitely did not have a rubber seal but the aircleaner assembly looks right. I think I still have the air cleaner. I will go outside and take a look.

Yes, Sandy, you're correct. Mine is from a 429 Thunder Jet 4V. The air cleaner housing is the same and the snorkel is functional on mine.

Here are some pictures:

Edit: I had this installed directly on a Holley 390 -- no issues -- on an Offy manifold in my 1966 Valiant. No clearance issues with the hood at all.

Right now it is sitting on a Holley 600 in an old Jeep. The air cleaner stud was too long. I blew out the transfer case on the Jeep unfortunately.

Here is a picture that I found of the Camaro setup. The hose leading to the side with a small scoop is the stock piece -- you could probably adapt that over to a slant six by using a plate with the Mopar carb.

In 1969 that Thunderjet cleaner would have been installed on a Thunderbird with a Holley 4 bbl.......

That s a cool option because of the way it wraps aroun the carb...low profile.

I like the F body Super 6 cleaner/snorkel .

That pie tin looks almost identical to the one I have on the Hooptie. Mine is off of a Ford LTD wagon, circa 1972ish.

Well, yes we have very very different ideas on bolt-ons for performance, but that is fine. I would guess that particular air cleaner was on a lot of big blocks. But the engine Eileen had a very good fresh air set-up that took minimal amount of sheetmetal work you could probably do with snips and rivets.
