Menko just called me and said they want a test mule. They are sending me a pair of the prototype mounts and I'll drop them in with the new Project V engine in 2 weeks. They should have all available shortly after the test.

Cheers,

Lou

Is it too late to get in on the group buy? Will need them for 2 early A projects.

Nope anyone that wants in can still do so, we have not made the production run. Simply do the following:

1) fill out the form on page 1 of the thread
2) Send your $20 deposit to Johnny Spiva (contact info also on page)

We're sending his prototype out to Lou, so barring any problems, we could start the production run in about 6 weeks. Thanks for everyone's patience and willingness to make this happen!

MJ

I miss this thread!!! I'm in for a set.

Can anyone post pictures of the engine mounts, I'm pretty sure that this are the same as the ones that we use in Argentina, but just to double check.

I have my brother's new rubber engine mounts set handy. Are these engine mounts the ones you are talking about?

If the answer is YES, I'm in for a set. I will ask SlantSixDan to handle this purchase for me.

I got an email from Johnny acknowledging receipt of my deposit plus a second one asking if I would be able to install and use a set of prototypes for evaluation. Unfortunately, not anywhere close to that point.

If I understand correctly, I am the test mule. They should be shipping to my house and I'll install with new engine into Project V next weekend.

Johnny sent me a set to try and get some feed back. I put them in my 63 Dart, and have posted video (the first part is with stock mounts - second part is with the poly mounts in place) :D :D

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a video is priceless

Terrific vidjye, but how'd you get those new mounts installed so fast?!!

This speaks very well for the new mounts' ability to hold the engine steady. No data yet on noise/vibration/harshness in the passenger compartment, and as much as I like your '63, Fopar, it's a rotten test bed for answering that question!

What was in there before...worn out old originals, compressed cow poo from India, or?

How's the fit and finish on the new mounts?

Dan,
True, the 63 Dart has no floor mats or back seat and plastic bucket seats doesn't make a normally street driven car. However I do drive it daily :)
But as one would and should expect there is a bit of motor vibration, mostly at idle and real low road speeds. If you want quiet and no vibration stay with the soft mounts. These mounts were just what I was looking for to stiffen up the engine.
The first mounts were new when installed about 1 year ago.

Pictures of new mounts

After checking the pictures that Fopar posted i see that the USA motor mounts a a little bit different from ours.

The left side motor mount has the bolts on the up and down side in-line, but the Argentinean has the bolts offset ...

Too bad for me. So disregard mi purchase on this

Wow! That's a huge difference from 1 year old stock mounts to poly. I can't wait to get mine.

Are you sure? I dont have a mount in front of me to look, but I think the US mount has the offset studs, too. Maybe some more pics of the new mount, from different angles, will help.
