Hello all I am looking for rear lower quarter panels for my 1963 Plymouth Valiant. The only ones I found are from Laysens does anyone know who else may make some? Laysens wants $600.00 for both sides and that is only the lower section behind the tire.

No luck there but thank you for the link. I may have to part with the money to get the ones from laysens. If anyone knows where a good 63 Valiant is that I can take my plasma cutter let me know.

Really? Is there a big difference between the years? Do they just not make that year? I thought they usually have all that metal for the year you're looking for.

$600 for a Satellite, Coronet, Barracuda etc is ok but for a 63 Valiant it's way too much. You might as well just buy a complete car for that and take the rest of the parts with it.

I agree. Why not just cut some metal out of a parts car and make your patches?
Ive seen some drivable cars for that much. I would NOT give Laysons a dime unless you are there and can lay your hands on the parts. Seen too many people screwed by Dave.

Still wondering what's the difference between the 63 and the 65? ABS has the metal for the 65, I would use that if it's the same.

It looks like the lower area might be the same, but the area around the taillights is different:

I think the part he is looking for is right behind the rear wheels (the usual place for cancer) Plymouth6 should buy the 65 piece from ABS and use it since it seems to be the same.

Looking at the two pics I believe your correct I will order one and see if it will work. I have heard the same stuff about Laysons Frank I would have drove over to the shop to buy them. Thank you very much for the info guys.

Check with DVAP ( Desert Valley Auto Parts ) in Arizona. Not too long ago they had a 63 .Almost everything they have is rust free. Prices are fair. I called looking for a 65 Belvedere trunk lid and ended up with the whole body. They will cut and ship any body part.

I called ABS and they have the parts I need but I am looking at 768.00 plus shipping. I think I should look for a donor car but live in Spokane Washington so the pickins are slim for a 63. I know of a 65 in town that has no rust I think I might try to get that even if I have to give the guy 1500 I will not have to do any work to the body.

I have a 64 with the same issues and have done pretty much the same searches you have. I am going to attempt to make one out of fiber glass. I figure i can shape the rusted panel up with bondo till its right, then cut the whole piece out and use it for a form to mold the fiber-glass..time consuming but if it works ill let you know. The inner walls on mine are gone as well so it will be a challenge at best....Mark
