I've put a new motor in my dart the old slant six was a 71 the new one i think is a 65. On the head where the water goes in, the nipple out of the 71 is to big, any ideas where i can get a smaller one? Hope this makes since.

You should be able to get one from NAPA or in the HELP section of your local parts store. You do know the 2 cranks are different for the 2 years of Engine you said. 71 is large register 65 is small. Are you changing the tranny also?

The 65 A body oil pan would also cause a problem in a 71 Dart.
Did the oil pan get changed?

this engine came out of a 80's car when i ran the block numbers they didn't match to anything one possible came from the valiant site as maybe a 65. it's the line coming from the heater core not the raditor. It's already in the car just need to tighten a few bolts and find the nipple for the water. The guy that had it ran it out of oil. put in another crank, rings and bearings. Had the head worked over.

If the hose size isn't the same as your heater, you can get an adapter from parts store to mix the hose sizes.
