Neat idea to try it with domestic products. It has been done before quite successfully on the Jaguar XKE. These had 3 1 bbl SU carbs. It was a thing of beauty.

The SU was a side draft, constant velocity carb. They were difficult to synchronize. Your solution of a plenum with the carbs operating on a progressive linkage gets around the carb sync problem.

I like Karasik87's approach.. you could get it milled flat on that side and get studs installed for the other "manifold". There's aftermarket 3 carb manifolds for the slant, but doubles are easier to come by from what I've seen.

btw I got my 64 valiant when i was 15 and been driving it everyday since :D

A friend gave me a triple glass bowl Holley setup for a Ford six a long time ago. I think it was an Edelbrock. Cool looking.

I have a slant six Benelli Sei motorcycle. It came with triple carbs and six into six exhausts. I bought a six into six carb setup made from Honda 500 manifolds, which engine the Benelli was based off of. Sounds real mean like a Ferrari or something.

Go for it.

Dude you are the man, you just gave me the sweetest Idea. I think I know where the intake can be grinded down. If I weld a plate on there that will allow me to bolt a plenum to it with a gasket in between the two. The I can make a box shaped plenum to bolt up to it, and if the plenum needs to be adjusted then I can simply unbolt the plenum and make a new one to weld up to the intake.

Hummm Tuba. That what I played. We have a Band teacher on the board here His name is Greg Ondayko you may want to pick his brain about Music teacher prospects. If you can get your college paid for do that. Auto mechanics can be done on a certificate program.

I've seen Flanges to build your own intake maifolds on ebay pretty regularly. Cheap too. The Idea of modding a manifold for studs and bolting on a "log" of your design might be the best way though. I think the others are correct in that everything will be easier to do if you get the three carbs bolted to a plate so that you know how much room you need and you will have the linkages etc, already working.

You working at shops or at dealerships? Most of the guys at my dealership bring in between $80-100k+ and they get there by bouncing from dealership to dealership every few years while having a nice bump in pay to go along with it.

What kind of fuel economy are you gettin in that thing, cause you'r runnin a six pack all the time right, no primary/secondary setup like I'm talkin. Also, what kind of cam are you runnin in that thing?

Does a super six have bigger runners on than the one barrel intake? Or does it simply have another throttle bore in the top of the plenum? I suppose I could grind down the inside of the runners for better flow.

Mileage with 2.80 rear gears 21.98 highway -- 16.28 around town
Mileage with 3.80 rear gears 18.75 highway -- have not checked around town.
Have a custom ground cam, this is in a 63 Dart GT

Super six manifolds have a 2 equal sized holes.

Attention!!!

Does anybody off the top of their heads know the diameter of the throttle bore on the one barrel manifold, or do you have a manifold to measure from? I'm drawing a scale picture now and need a measurement, not precision, just using a ruler is fine with me.
