Hello I am in the process of gathering up infor for midwest to order my converter.


I need to guestimiate the weight of the car.


Here's the skinny on it.

1968 valinat v-100 No interior except metal dash frame and driver's bucket. No spare etc. All aluminum rims no heater etc.

No front bumper.

All steel parts and stock glass.

I have no access to a scale and I could not find a curb weight listing.

Yeah....Im the one who destroyed this rare, vintage automobile.....

My 69 dart i raced two years ago was 2550 without driver with about the same gutting as yours but without a hood,this was on accurate 4 wheel race scales.

If I remember my 67 Dart tipped the scales right around 2700. Just about the same amount of gutting as yours.

Greg, You can loose a lot more weight by removing the side glass and all the hardware from the doors. With the side glass flat Lexan is easy to cut with a jig saw and fits the full door frames with ease. Leave in the 2 vent windows for air on the return road and staging lanes. If you want you can do the old Super Stock deal and make the driver side lexan window go up and down with a left over seatbelt. Works slick. Looking foward to paring up with you in Pittsburgh.

Romeo, Yes I am going to replace the Side windows with lexan that's on the list.

The Bumpers and Hood /Deck lid will be fiber components by next year too.

I scaled my 69 V100 and it weight exactly 2750 lbs. That was without the the passenger front bucket seat, rear seats, spare tire or jack and 1/2 tank gas. All other items were there. I had Keystone Classic rims on it which are pretty heavy.

The neatest thing is that on mine with the battery in the trunk the weight distribution was 52% front 48% rear. Possibly the best weight distribution of any factory front engine car.

Mine is a 2 door. But, there is very little difference between the 2 door and 4 doors on the 67-69 Valiant. The wheelbase is the same. I took a tape measure to mine and compared it with a 4 door. All the dimensions were the same except for where the B pillar is at. If you moved the B pillard forward, you could put the doors from a 4 door on a 2 door.

this is all interesting, but I have no intentions of doing this - as 4 door cars appear to be waay slow.


Plans include gutting the rear doors of regulators and associtaed junk and just mig'in them shut.
