Of what quality are the rotors from Venezuela?

I've been avoiding rotors that say "Made in China" and sticking with ones that say USA or Canada, but I have a set that says Made in Venezuela.

Thinking about cutting them down for another set of hubs but thought I would check first.

Thanks.

dont know why Venezuela would make anything. They got enough oil down there for everyone to make money on. But maybe they must have alot of mopars down there too. Otherwise they wouldn.t need to make brake rotors for them! I guess Venezuels rotors would be right next to chinese rotors on the scale of rotor quality. You decide which side by looking carefully at them and using a run-out micrometer. Are we to assume that these are the unicast rotors? I dunno, iron is iron, how bad could you screw it up. (hehehehe) I only use rotors from Argentina!

I have a set on my Duster, and they've held up just fine to the aggressive brake pads I've installed...I would check the box, I got one that was stamped "Venezuela" and another flap of the box it was stamped "china"...

Unless you buy the $110 rotors, most are going to be from China...

The iron can definitely be of better/worse quality, but maybe no difference for a low speed daily driver.

I have no idea about Venez rotors, but I try to spend as much as possible on rotors since you usually get what you pay for and I want them to work and not warp quickly. $40-50 is too cheap these days to get about any rotor worth a dang.

I didn't buy these, they came with the car, so I couldn't say if they were the cheap brand or the "lifetime" warranty brand. Pulled them off when I swap my hubs onto the car for the custom brake setup I have been working on.

I am thinking about cutting them down for another set of hubs, so I'm not really worried about run-out on the rotors. The nose has a bit more meat than the first set I used and I think they would work better with the rotors I am using and the Ford wheels. I'm not sure the first set is indexing the wheel to the hub.

They are the gusseted style rotor, though. The one thing I did notice about the machining is that the wheel studs are noticeable offset from between the gussets rather than centered between them.

Problems:

1. There are some excellent rotors made in China.
2. The original poster can probably do that (guess) on his own. He's asking for knowledge. I don't have it, so I'm not answering him.

I bought a set of BBP Rotors in late 96, the top line Raybestos (ProStop or PG plus, whatever they called them at the time).

They are very good rotors, are wearing perfectly with Bendix semi metallic pads, have no out of parallel issues or hot spots and will not likely even need to be turned before the next pad change.

They were made in Venezuela. I also suppose it has to do with A bodies being made and sold in south america later than here.
