By 1994 the ACTC Slant Six was making no less that 330HP on premium unleaded pump gas and turning @ 8100 RPM.

The TOP performance for the ACTC Slant Six was in 2004 with 380HP and turning 8700RPM, I can't find a video of 2004 but with this two from 1993 /1994 I think that you get the idea of how this Slant were tricked and how HARD they were driven!!!!

Glad you like it!!!!

For sure Shaker!!! That head was casted specifically for this engines (ACTC Slant Race Engines). Many other items were specifically produced for the Slant Race Engine and only, at that time, available to the ACTC Racers/Engine Builders.

I have find out more info about those heads and the casting didn't have the combustion chamber, plug hole, seats and deck casted in. At that time you got a new head with only a small hole as a guide/reference for the Valve guides and plug hole an the main surface was all flat.

Also the runners came very small. So this heads got a LOT of work to even make them usable.

Now that I'm thinking I should have post this along with the "ACTC Slant Race Head" thread ...

Can anyone move it?

Martin, my son and I enjoyed the videos! Thank you. Have you done any more detective work on the producer/foundry for the heads? Thanks again, Wayne.

Ooh, that was nice! Thank you, Polara1974. I'll put the sound on a tape and listen to it in my car whenever I'm in stop-an-go traffic, blasting away with open windows! Maybe my own slant get envious and start behaving better...

How did they handle oiling and the valvetrain at those RPMs?

God, I want one of these motors.....

So By my calculations 3300cc + 201.3 Cubic inches. Were these engines big bored 170's?? Maybe stroked 170's?

Thanks,

Greg

Uhmmm...
A .030 over bore (3.430) with a 198 crank throw (3.640) gets you 201 CID.
Basically a .030 over 198... and that explains the RPMs

Actually this engines used the 170 crankshaft modified, with the 225 "906" Engine Block with a bore between 89,5mm to 91,5 depending on the year.
The rods were between 189/192mm center to center distance, CR was set at 9:1, the carburator was a Weber Dino 40-40mm, runing on pump fuel.
With that the acieve at the last year of the Slant Six runing in ACTC, 8700RPM redline with 360/370HP.
