Hello Dart270 yes these are standard 3" collectors. If you have a smooth shrinking pipe let say 3" to 2" 8" long connected to these, is that not the same as a longer collector? Just asking for my info :? Don
I think that the answer is "yes" as most typical headers are designed this way.

Your headers could be good for people who wanted to choose their collector length to suit their build.

Could you give us a pic of where the pipes come together at the flange?
It just seemed that way to me, that adjustment in this area would be nice.

Would you be willing to substitute a T3 turbo flange at the end, after the collector?

How about stainless or ceramic coating as options?

What kind of price are you shooting for?

Greg
Yes we are looking for turbo flange supplier now! We have only powder coating companys here and he is willing to do a set with his high temp for us. We will have to go to Tampa for ceramic we will call about this soon. The stainless would not be a problem. :)

Personally, I think 3" collectors are the way to go anyway.

You may want to get ahold of some other types of manifolds to make sure your pipes'll fit those (at least Offy and Clifford 4bbl and maybe Offy 2X1?).

Also, let me know if you you would be interested in doing a single-outlet turbo manifold, either one off or to produce.

Keep it up!

Lou
This intake is aluminum. we have a cast 2bbl should be the same I think and an offy 4bbl, so far they all worked fine, no clifford here to test. :( I would be very interested in a run, But 1 offs for a specific car or build is what I enjoy most. :!:

Scroll down about 1/4 of the way.

I think your collector should look like these.

I think I remember using about a 15 degree merge angle until you get down to the size of the collector you want.

If you want to get fancy have a triangular spike in the middle...
Thank you emsvitil, :D that was the pic I needed. I will be working over time with and without spike. Options are nice, talk to yall soon Don
Water pump clearance.

"Headers for Slanters, by Slanters" 8)

Ya know, I could possibly convince myself to buy some for my Volare.
Now, how do I convince my wife that these are a necessity?

Those headers are looking good, very professional! :D

A little early for price, we are trying to keep these as low as passable. Still calculating price as the build is finalized. We have already found a supplier for flanges that saved us alot so far, :D I will keep you up to speed Don.

Put me on the list for a set for a 170 after you and Charlie get them down pat.I know you will get us the best price. FYI I have been quoted prices from top Header builders, all around $1000 to $1200 for complete with merge collectors and Turbo flange. No one will even think about mass production. Some gave me a flat out NO. Others just smile and laugh. I don't understand as this can be a marketable item international with the internet and all. I truly feel if more parts were available more people will be building the slants.

The sentence should read merge collectors OR turbo flange. Sorry about that ! Even when I proof read I miss something.

Hello all. Just want to let you know we spoke with Charlie yesterday on the phone and come up with a plan. :) We plan on putting a 170 and a power steering box with a stock starter in his 65 valiant to check fitment. The other concerns and information he has given me says these will work fine. He stated some problems he has had with other headers and the installs and I feel we corrected these areas already, WATER PUMP, STARTER, KICK DOWN LINKAGE, DIP STICK, CARB SPRING AND CABLE HOLD DOWN, CHOKE POD,PIPE ENTRANCE AND MOTOR MOUNT CLEARANCES. Now i'm working on building or own collectors to finish this project. If you have something to ad to the list of concerns or wants on this build please let me know and I will try to help Don
