I have done a ton of searching but have not come up with a definite "This year, This engine" for which T-5 to choose from, there is a '95 5.0 with T-5, guys selling just the trans for a very good price $200, would this make a good canidate for the T-5 swap ???

its more of a world class/non world class, (WC is better if you plan to "get on it" much at all) and Mustang vs Camaro vs S 10 deal.
you are right, from what I have seen in looking into a Mustang one. Shifter locations vary etc; make sure it is a T5 and not a T45, which came out around then. also the Camaro ones mount at a funky angle ("twisted" to one side) S 10 ones have almost a "granny" 1st gear. From whjat I have seen on various forums you can mix/match somewhat, gears etc between the different variations.
I have been looking into the same exact thing, and have done nothing but confuse myself.

Get the trans. Get the driveshaft yoke and clutch disc as well.

There is no one way to do this. It takes lots of measuring to get right.

well I got some even better news found a T5 World Class Transmission
Bell Housing, Transmision, Used Flywheel, Fork and a cross member on ebag for a low starting price of $150, buy it now for $200. only problem its a 6 hour drive round trip.... ugh, I don't know decisions decisions,

you could resell that fork, bell, crossmember and other stuff you won't really be using, for ~$50-75 back to some Ford guy.

What I would LIKE TO have gotten, would be the new in crate Cobra version T5 that was on the local CL 2 weeks ago; but I never pursued it due to its price; not that it isn't worth the $1K fror a brand new trans but it's a bit rich for my blood.
as the weather warms I'm gonna be hitting the pic n pulls for my T5.

The '95 trans willl have a little longer input shaft (7.8"?) than the '93-down V8 WC T5 (7.12"). I use the '93 down, and actually the later one should be better for clutch spline engagement than mine. Everything else should be compatible. I say go for it.

Sweet appreciate it Dart270, btw found out the ebag tranny is an '87, but is the same clutch fork used on the '95 for the '87-'93 ? time for more searching lol

You would have a complete list off all of the common (and most of the uncommon) T-5 gearsets and their corresponding tag numbers and OEM applications.

I did miss the Holden T-5s when I wrote the book because I didn't have australian sources, but I have all the rest.

WC and non WC transmissions differ in the design of the countershaft bearings and some other small differences that are also covered in my book. The non-WC is a pretty crappy design.

well I bought the book used, $14 shipped, should be here in a week or so, gonna snag the '95 T5 this weekend, guy is selling the bell and clutch fork together and won't break them up wtf ?!!! I'll see if I can smooth talk him into throwing in the clutch fork,I dunno I'll see I guess,

I think you'll be pleased with the book, I've read it cover to cover, and consider it to be an excellent reference (put it next to my 1976 FSM on the shelf).

As for the T-5, I'm a fan. People complain about them but as long as you aren't running 12-second 1/4 miles they are pretty darn tough. They have their weaknesses but they are cheap, light and small.
