Hey, name's Kevin. I'm the new guy here, but I've been lurking for a while. I've got an '82 Dodge B-150 with a slanty sitting in it.

First of all, I've heard slant 6's are virtually indestructible, so I'm pretty happy I've got one. I picked up the van for $350 from some guy who was desperate to get rid of it, and so far have removed all the electronic engine controls, and installed a points distributor.

It idles rough, but I've checked all vacuum lines and intake gasket for leaks, so I'm attributing its bad idle to the Autoline C7066 carb that's in it.

Anyway, thanks for having this site available, as well as all the great links to useful information out there on the web.

Welcome!

Where are you located? Maybe we can hook you up with somebody to help get it tuned in.

The points distributor may work for you,. but there are some changes to the power system you will have to make. Converting to a Mopar EI or GM HEI will make your world a whole lot better, The HEI is worlds above the Mopar ignition, Get there first and save youself a bunch of hassle. :D

Start searching the site and visiting the FAQ's at the top of the page. Go into the Articles section from the Home page. You'll find a lot of great information in those places!

Ceej,

I'm in Wenatchee, WA. I've been looking at all the faq's and links and with so much info to take in, I've gotten brain lock. :P

I actually just read through the HEI conversion, and having just replaced the dual pickup distributor and "stupid box" for points and vacuum advance, I don't feel comfortable going back and adding new electronic crap.

No cats on the exhaust, no electronic boxes to contend with. I like to keep it simple. :)

Thanks for the welcome.
