I was wondering if I would be able to use my 1-barrel throttle cable when I swap over to a 2-barrel. Is it long enough? I know I'll need to fab a new throttle bracket. Also, on a stock 2-barrel manifold with a Carter, which direction of rotation does the throttle move when you step on the gas? Standing on the driver's side of the car facing the passenger side, does the throttle rotate clockwise or counter-clockwise? Which side is the throttle on, passenger or driver.

Crap... I take it that means that there is no way of working around that without putting the throttle cable in a bind? I guess I'll start looking for an early V-8 cable or super six cable.

You car should use the round cable end...which ended after the 1974 model year... I've used a 1974 cable for a 318(can still get over the counter at a Mopar Dealer)...or there is a Pioneer Cable available that works as well (Dan might remember the number)...
An actual Super Six cabel has the square plastic end at the firewall and will require either use of a uni-bit and drill to make things right, or and adapter...

I suggest #1 above, also do a search for the "beyond the supersix" article there should be some pics of the poor '74 I had...

I never changed the throttle cable on my 70 Valiant I just looped it around and held it like that with a wire tie.

Well thanks for the head up. I wouldn't have been to happy if I found that out the hard way. Good to know these cables are reproduced, that eliminates the primary headache or finding it.
