Hello, I'm new and really motivated by this forum, I hope to find the help I need here.

recently I purchased this pice from the past, and I was just driving it home when I noticed there was some noise coming from the rear end as I piked up speed over 35 miles per hour.

so went to the oil change, and have the mechanic change the oil, the mechanick found no oil in that pice of...rear end,,,so we put oil and noticed that the front seal was leaking badly..(I still drive the car like that).

the spider gears were worn out,,,,to my view,,,so, my question is,,should I rebuilt this rear end, or maybe I get something a little newer sofisticated and all that??

thanks for your help.

I'm sure I'll make a donation to the board soon.

What is the intended usage for the car? Stock, daily driver? Hop up, street strip? Serious racing?

Can you do the work yourself (rebuild, or replace?)

The fastest & low cost way to fix this is to replace the rear end assembly with a good used one.
I have a few extra good used ones and live right down the road in Sunnyvale.
Send me a PM with your contact info and I can quote a price to replace the axle assembly in your 65 Dart.

this car will be used very much for high way trips, I do Sound engineering for rock, heavy metal and punk bands and must times I'll travel down to L.A. to do that with some of my gear for the shows,,so this car will be my personal ride for that.

high way driving, very much., every day drive from Redwood City, to Berkeley Ca. monday - friday...~ 100 miles round trip daily.( to my real work).

thanks.
