well i was changing out my carb today
i had bought a replacement carb a single barrel
well after taking my old one off i noticed that the base of the carbs were differnt and i looked at the bottom of mine and seen that it was a two barrel in disbeleaf i looked at the intake and just shook my head wtf
i guess i should have looked at it better i just took for grantet that it was a single barrel
so called the parts store and getting another one in a week and its $40 more but thats ok
i feel like such a dumbass

The error may have saved you a lot of headache. Parts store carburetors are almost invariably "remanufactured" and are, again almost invariably junk and not worth the fuel it takes to drive to the sotre to buy them.

You would be much better served to take your original 2-barrel to a reputable rebuilder and have it properly rebuilt, or if you want to give it a try, rebuild it yourself. You can do about everything except rebush the throttle shaft.
