I just pulled my intake and exhaust manifold, took a straight edge to the intake and it looks great than I took the edge to the exhaust manifold and I got some pretty big gaps. should I just bring both manifolds to a machine shop and have both surfaces taken down flat? Im guessing so but I thought I would see if thats better then finding a new exhaust manifold. Second question...In the exhaust manifold I have that heat flapper deal, Im missing one of the bushings and Im not sure if the spring counter balance deal is even working rite. Is there anywere I could just get the whole replacment?

I don't know if they still make them but the mopar part# 3420047......I think.I have one and that's what it says on the box.

Correct P/N for the manifold heat control valve repair kit depends on what year manifold is being worked on -- they are not one-fits-all, and all of them are no longer produced.

You'll be time, money, and effort ahead to just go ahead and get a new exhaust manifold. You can get a Chinese copycat for a little over $100, or spend a few bucks more (worth it!) and get a genuine Chrysler one; see here. Auction says "B200 van" but the manifolds are not car/truck specific. This is a '73-up exhaust manifold; depending on the year of your vehicle you may need to put on a different choke thermostat that will fit the '73-up manifold; in that case I recommend one of the Electric choke kits. It is very much worth your while to get the good gaskets for the manifolds-to-head and intake-to-exhaust junctions.

I just purchased an exhaust manifold on eBay from the same guy Dan is recommending and it is an EXCELLENT buy. The manifolds he is selling TRULY have never been used and have good functioning heat riser valve thermostatic springs. Can't wait to get it in my car (still waiting for the gaskets from Australia!)

One thing that should be noted though: In 1980, the Slant 6 exhaust manifold was modified to accommodate an O2 sensor. If your car is from before 1980, which I'm assuming it is, you will have to plug up the hole where the sensor is intended to go because these B-200 manifolds are post-1980. The hole is threaded for a M18x1.5 bolt. After a little research I discovered that a great, cheap solution is to order part #90033-41020 from any Toyota dealership. It's a bolt for Toyota oil pans, only costs $2.80 and is an exact fit for the O2 sensor hole.

My advice: Take Dan's advice!
