72 dart slant 6

Car is warm and the car sputters when driving it idles perfect if it does die it start right back up

I dont know if this could be a misfire or a fuel issue or carb??

it doesnt always happen just randomly and right after can drive perfectly anyone have an idea what it could be

Does it happen when the engine's cold, when it's warm, or both? Tune-up parts and technique suggestions in this thread. Carburetor operation and repair manuals and links to training movies and carb repair/modification threads are posted here for free download. And remember the engine needs periodic valve adjustment.

it happens with both cold and hot it just doesnt happen all the time if i drive say 10 miles it might happen once if that some time it bogs down and i gas it and it never dies it just takes off again and idles like it should so im thinking smething when its only under load liek accelerator pump timing vacuum leak ?? not sure tho

I used to have that problem quite often. The tanks at CENEX aren't the best.
It might just be some water in the float bowl sloshing around. How often do you run alcohol drier?

i just got the car a week ago ran fine at the time im checking out the vacuum advance and theres no hose connected and when i connect manifold vacuum it runs very rough and connected to ported nothing happens could the vacuum advance be leaking??

Check your timing with it unplugged and plugged back in. Did the timing move?
Try blowing on the hose going to the advance? is it leaking, or hook up a vacuum pump and gauge to verify if the diaphragm is leaking.
