i've heard many of u guys express opinions about the Quadra jets. i have one i need some coaching to get rite. it's not on a Slant 6 so i'd rather not waste space on this board. it has a drip at one of the accelerator pumps when it is NOT on the jet.
any body will to guide me off the board?

Rebuild it. The Quadrabog can be a GREAT carb when tuned properly. I built one for my 78 Monte Carlo that had a mild small block in it, and when those secondaries opened you could hear them over the dual 2 1/2 exhaust! You could also hear money being wasted and the gas pumps in town calling.

If a carburetor is leaking, or has a drip, or vehicle has been stored or sitting unused for as little as six months it most likely needs a rebuild.

While you are at it, where this is a motor home, most of which spend their life parked 99% of the time, I would blow out the fuel lines as well.

i'm looking for tips as to what to suspect for the leak shown in this video.

i was hoping to just stop the leak, but i'm thinking that a rebuild is probly the best idea.
the biggest carb i've ever done is the carter BBD. going into the 4bbl is a little intimidating.
is it really any different? or is it just more parts to keep track of?
blowing out the fuel line is a great idea. i don't think i would have thought of that.

if that`s the problem just do a rebuild and set the float to the correct height using the measuring stick in the kit. if the fuel level in the bowl is to high at idle there is enough air flow to pull fuel from the booster, this is not suppose to happen until the throttle is moved.

that makes perfect sense. what puzzles me is why it only leaks on the one side? r there multiple floats? everything(vehicle and carb) appears to be level. could the fact that it's only one indicate a different problem, or maybe a second problem?

is there anywhere where i can get a blown apart diagram of my carb to use as a guide?

Gato: Just think of the project as rebuilding a pair of two barrel carburetors.

Once rebuilt, one driveability/reliability weak link will have been removed, and the old 4/jet will be trouble free for a while.

Just for the heck of it, understanding that this site is Holley content dense, there is a lot of good informationcontained it it, and an explanation as to why to rebuild a carburetor rather than 0.5 rear-ending it.

the air flow might be a little higher in that booster and not the others, so the fuel is being pulled out.

and that would be adjusted with the mixture screw?

no, only the float level, for a carb to meter the right amount of fuel it has to be set right. the air flow in the seperate bbls are not perfectly matched, on race carbs do that, so a little more put on one corner of the carb even though they pull from the same fuel bowl.

i got the top off. can see the float. time to figure out how to measure and adjust it.
