in my 74 swinger, i have what feels like its got a bit of oversteer going on. when i get hauling A around a good corner, it almost feels like the back is going to come around any moment. it has addco bars front and rear with i bielive .890 bars if i remember. all that was in it when i bought the car. i also have 15x7 cop rims and 225/50r15 dunlop tires on all four corners. how can i plant the rear more? doin 70+ around a sweeet on ramp is a blast but the last thing i want to do is spin out. it feels like it will any moment. i have .920 bars i will be installing also so i know this will also change things. help please

I'm not an expert, but I would try a larger sway bar on the front.

If you stiffen-up the front with bigger T. bars and anti-sway bar, that will help. The front wheels will want to "push" (understeer) as things stiffen-up.

How are all the leaf spring bushings in back, worn leaf spring bushings makes the rear feel like it's going to break loose.

Ditto what Doc said about leaf bushings. I found the poly rear leaf bushings helped out. Stiffening the front end would be good, but you could also remove the rear sway bar, or remove a leaf from each leaf pack to soften the rear. Either will reduce oversteer. Most A-body handling guys I know of, including me, do not run a rear sway bar.

Have fun,

Lou
