Hi,

That's my goal for my 1967 4 door VC Valiant. Slant 6 225L motor, It's auto.

Has anyone else done this in a similar car? Or does anyone think it's possible?

I was thinking Shave the head, higher compression pistons, Head has already been ported and polished. chuck on a long runner intake with 350 Holley, extractors with big exhaust, Electric ignition and coil, and 4.55 diff gears.

What do you geniuses think?

I looked a few pages into this forum and couldn't find anything really like this so hopefully I put it in the right place :).

If your car can do 10.00 at 69mph in the 1/8th mile that puts you at 7.56 according to the 0 to 60 Wallace calculator. When I put in my 1/8th times,my car will do it in 3.08 seconds.Guzzi Mark

Welcome to the board, Brussell.

You should look at this thread:

http://slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php ... ine+combos

My '64 Dart street car does 0-60 in about 5.7 sec, and my pickup with Slant 6 in about 8 sec.

You won't need 4.55 gears to reach your goal. 0 - 60mph in less than 8 secs, as others have proven, is not really that hard.

FWIW using the Wallace 0 - 60 calc puts my old Valiant at 6.91sec.

Thanks heaps!

After seeing that I'd like to see acceleration of my 4door VC be around 7 seconds to reach 100km/hour speeds.

Big question for me I think is, do you guys reckon that is possible with not much work?

Head ported polished.
350 Holley long runner intake
extractors + big exhaust
Elec Ignition with big coil
4.55 diff gears.

or am I just wanting too much?

What's the rest of the engine like?
If you were adding what you've listed to a stock engine I don't think that would give you enough extra HP to get you from 0 - 100kph(62.5mph) in 7 seconds. The Slant 6 VC Valiant from the factory did the 1/4 mile in low 19's, you'd be aiming for around the mid 15's.

P.S. yes your trans should be a 904 TF.

As for the rest of the engine I have no idea.

I am thinking a new cam shaft, had a look around and found a Stage one or Stage two that I think would suit my engine from www.pentastarparts.com/sunshop
And perhaps shaving the head or new compression pistons.

Can't afford alot What I've mentioned is what's been done already or about to be done.

When I bought her, I was told she'd had an engine recon in the last few years.

So was thinking I may need to get it balanced?

Thanks everyone so far for helpful comments etc, has been appreciated!
