Hi everyone and thanks in advance for your help. Awhile ago I asked a question about installing a floor shift in my 1970 Valiant 4 dr. I was told that I needed a transmission with the shifter mounted way back on the tailshaft of the tranny. So I bought one and just installed it and an oem 3 sp shifter. Well the shifter will not work since it is too high inside the car putting the shift rods inside the car. Now what? Can anyone help me on how to hook up a shifter on this vehicle that will work? Floor shifter requies you cut the floor out in front of and behind the crossmember to clear the shifter and rods , then you put a floor hump in place to cover up the hole in the floor . You can get them from a four speed car ,or Brewers sells them new .
