Started some measurements today on the True Flow Headers for the early A-Bodies again

I will be putting in the power steering box in for the build just checking the difference for now. :D

If they will work with this intake, they should just about work with any of them don't you think :?:

As I stated before I need headers for a 170 in an early A. If you could build them with 1 5/8" pipe to 2 1/2" collectors and clear the stock clutch linkage that would be ideal. I'm using the same Clifford manifold as pictured.

Yes, if it will clear that intake, it should fit about anything. The only induction I might worry about are Webers, and very few people use those.

Hello Joshua.
I do have a standard in one of my Dusters this will be out soon for a clutch. How close is the Z bar and rod connection tho, I don't know. We can check with Charlie and see if he might have them from this car or another.
I will increase the primary pipe size as the design is calculated to make sure they have the room to increase. This combination will be tight :!:

Yeah, my project is going to be more difficult than usual. If the pipes don't make it through with a Z-bar and linkage in place I'll go with a hydraulic clutch. I'd like to stay with the mechanical clutch linkage as I already own it, but I'll do what it takes ($$$) to go fast.

Hay Lou, you had me looking through the gallery found a couple pics of the weber set up. I see that would be a different animal for exhaust. Allot of options I see. Is that what they mean by down draft? I see this as up draft.

Thank you ....................I purchased a Warneford design manifold w/long runners.....3 X 1 3/4 will be the first test on the salt car. Might even take three 2 1/8 SU's . some sort of linkage would be important too. Gotta try every option we can and dyno them. You have played a big part already and are appreciated. At least you can think out of that BOX :D :D
thanks a bunch
MaX

What gets me is the old NASCAR boys were faster than we are today. What are we missing? Reseach, research like to know what they were doing.

Hello charlie hope all is well. :) Do you happen to have any manual shifting linkage for the Valiant by any chance? I have a question far all. In the early A-Body I think the floor shifter car would have a different linkage/Z bar than three on the tree cars :?: Witch one takes up more engine compartment room :?:
I see allot of people running manual. Some pics of that area would be nice and help allot till I get some linkage. I want to make sure the Headers I'm building, work for all Don.
