So I've read through the other posts and stuff.

And I've decided to shave my head by around 0.100. (will be checking to see if I have to adjust the rods valves etc first.

Is this really as simple as taking the head off. taking it to the mill shop. Getting the work done. Getting a good thin head gasket and putting it all back together?

Or am I missing something...

You are missing the math and careful measurement involved in making sure you actually want to mill the head .100. You need to take the time to calculate your dynamic compression ratio to see if it is something you can run on the gas you are going to be using. It isn't as simple a just deciding to mill .100 off the head.

You need to cc the head and measure how far the piston is down in the bore.
Like Reed said, you got to do the math to find out what you have first......
then cut.....

Besides measuring and determaning the amount to cut, the machine shop will want to disassemble the head and perform a "valve job" while the head is off and apart.
Doing all the needed head work can lead to extra expense, depending on the condition of your current head so get a quote before agreeing to the work.
